The team recently received a pledge from a generous donor to match all gifts received in support of the new endowment up to $50,000.   The team plans to launch the endowment challenge this fall to conclude the effort next spring at the annual Lacrosse Alumni game and is encouraging alumni, parents and friends to help them reach the goal of $180,000. As a result, earnings of the endowment will be used for expenses that are necessary to compete as a highly ranked team in the MCLA, while any excess earnings will be reinvested to augment the endowment to compensate for inflation and provide long-term growth.  Common expenses that the endowment will directly support include coach’s salaries and additions, practice and game facilities, scholarships and transportation needed for the team to compete with other top ranked teams across the country. 

In addition, the fund will give the team opportunities needed to expand the financial limitations encountered due to its club status.  Due to the recent global economic turmoil, it is becoming more and more challenging to afford the best facilities, equipment and travel methods required to consistently compete at the highest level each year. “Support from parents, alumni, and other contributors is crucial for us to compete and experience success as a team,” remarks current team treasurer and Co-Founder of the endowment, Mike Schneider, “The endowment will provide us with the means necessary to take our club to the next level, through a consistent source of income.”
