No. 8 Florida State Pulls Out Win Against no. 19 Michigan State Seminoles second half comeback stop Spartans. February 21, 2010 TALLAHASSEE, FL. - Michigan State suffered their first lost of the 2010 season, falling 8-5 to the no. 8 Florida State Seminoles. After showing promise through the first half of the game, the Spartan offense disappeared in the second half allowing the Seminoles to come back from a 5-3 deficit. It was a lackluster first quarter with only three goals scored between the Spartans and the Seminoles. Florida State midfielder Josh Eustice notched the first goal of the game at the 12:47 mark. Just over four minutes later junior attackman Patrick Nemes bodies his man to the crease and put the ball past Seminole goalie John Goodrich to tie the game at one. However, the Seminoles would score again with less than three minutes left in the quarter to up the score to 2-1 heading into the second quarter. |

No. 19 Spartans Start Off 2-0 in Southern Shootout Michigan State allows only one goal in the second half to rally back against no. 15 Boston College. February 20, 2010 TALLAHASSEE, FL. - The Georgia Bulldogs proved to be all bark and no bite yesterday when Michigan State came in and defeated the Bulldogs in an 18-4 rout. However, the Spartans faced a much tougher test against no. 15 ranked Boston College. Eight Spartans had multiple points in the win over Georgia, sophomore Michael Baily led the team with two goals and two assists. Michigan State’s extra man offense also boasted an impressive 60% success rate netting six out of 10 opportunities.

2010 Michigan State Men’s Lacrosse Season Outlook Spartans high powered offense looks to take on a tough schedule. February 17, 2010 EAST LANSING, MI. - Michigan State suffered an abrupt end to the 2009 season in a disappointing loss to Buffalo in the CCLA semi-final game. In 2010, with a schedule that includes six top 25 teams, the Spartans have Denver on their mind. Last season the majority of the offense was generated through the attack. However in 2010, Coach Hicks has stepped up the offensive scheme and brought on Chris Cooper as the Spartans’ new offensive coordinator. Cooper played four years at Central Michigan and brings with him an exciting, high octane energy that has translated well into Spartans’ offense. |

Alumni Weekend at Michigan State On this Saturday, October 24, the Spartans will host their annual alumni game at the Service Rd. Field at 11:00 a.m. The game will be followed by a tailgate at 2:30 p.m. for all past and present Michigan State lacrosse players leading up to the football game against Iowa. All alumni are invited to join the team in helping continue the growth of Spartan lacrosse. The Service Rd. field is located between Bogue and Hagadorn on the north side of Service Rd. The tailgate will take place at the tennis courts which are located on campus on the corner of Chestnut and Wilson. |

Spartans Strong in Fall Ball Tourney Michigan State’s 11 newcomers step up against top tier talent.  October 11, 2009 By Max Carrion KENOSHA, Wis, - Just beyond the shores of Lake Michigan, Michigan State faced off against nationally ranked teams in the Lakefront Fall Classic. The Spartans faced three top 25 teams with games against Lindenwood University, University of Minnesota-Duluth and University of Illinois. Merely two weeks after try outs, the Spartans squared off against the no. 10 Lindenwood Lions in their first game of the tournament. Michigan State quickly got up against the Lions with a 7-1 start. |
